DKK Nigeria in partnership with Lagos Internal Revenue Service has unveiled Tax Trybe, an initiative in tax education.

According to a statement, the programme marked the commencement of tax club activities, aimed at imparting comprehensive tax knowledge in Lagos secondary schools.

The launch event brought together representatives from secondary schools in Lagos State, particularly from Districts 2 and 4, DKK Nigeria and officials from the Lagos Internal Revenue Service.

Attendees gained insights into the importance of tax education and the overarching objective of establishing tax clubs in schools, it stated.

It stated that Tax Trybe was driven by the goal of nurturing a profound understanding of taxation among young students, shaping them into future tax ambassadors.

Acknowledging the potential perception of taxation as a complex and dull subject, Tax Trybe was committed to introducing innovative and engaging approaches to make learning both enjoyable and comprehensible, the statement said.

The Head of Corporate Communications at the Lagos State Internal Revenue Service, Mrs Monsurat Amasa-Oyelude, stated, “Tax Trybe aligns with our commitment to fostering knowledge and accessibility to tax education. This collaboration with DKK Nigeria drives a culture that instills a sense of responsibility and an understanding of taxation from an early age.
