Nawoj called on Nigerians to obtain their PVC’s to enable them vote credible Leaders.

As the 2023 general elections are around the corner, the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) has called on all Nigerians to obtain their Personal Voter Cards (PVCs) to enable them to elect credible leaders.

This was contained in a communique issued at the end of its first zonal meeting of the Northeast held in Jalingo, Taraba State capital.

The meeting which was chaired by the NAWOJ North-east Zonal Vice President, Comrade Dorcas Philemon resolved that the zonal meeting should be frequent, and described the lack of funds as the major challenge to each state in the zone.

It also resolved that monthly Congress should be organized frequently by the chairpersons in the zone, as well as urged them to encourage members to be up to date with their check-up dues.

Lack of cooperation among the members has also been described as a factor that brought set back the Association and urged state chairpersons to encourage members to pay for their National Uniforms to avoid being left behind.

It further announced that there would be a gigantic program for the zone slated for October 2022 to be sponsored by states within the zone.

Nawoj called on each state in the zone to always mark UN days in the calendar, to make the Association more active.

The meeting also discussed the state of the nation which include insurgency, high cost of living, high cost of farm implements, Domestic violence, and rape cases among others, and called on all to be prayerful.

Nawoj called on career women to know how to balance their homes and work to have a peaceful family, as well as to be good mothers, and wives anywhere and time they find themselves.

The communique drafting committee has Sa’adatu Maina as Chairman, Abigail Kolo, a member, and Iririben Danladi who served as Secretary.
