The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress of Nigeria (TUC) have directed its members to proceed on an indefinite nationwide strike to protest the recent assault on the NLC president, Comrade Joe Ajaero.
GWG.ng reports that Ajaero was recently brutalized in Owerri, when he led NLC officials to protest the alleged violations of workers’ interests by the Imo State Government.
Speaking to newsmen on Monday, president of TUC, Festus Osifo, said the strike would remain until “government at all levels wake up to their responsibility.”
