The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun State has accused the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state of planning to set ablaze the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) office.

According to the PDP Caretaker Chairman, Dr Akindele Adekunle, the intent of the APC is to destroy the BVAS machines used in the July 16, 2022 governorship election.

Recall that the APC and its candidate, Governor Adegboyega Oyetola filed suits against the PDP and its candidate who has been declared as the Governor-elect, Ademola Adeleke and both parties have been granted access to inspect the election materials.

Reacting, the APC described the allegation as laughable, gibberish and only a composition from an idle hand.

In a statement by the Media Adviser to the APC State Chairman, Prince Gboyega Famodun, Kola Olabisi on Saturday, Adekunle was said to have exposed his ignorance on the workings in the INEC.

“It is a pity that the level of educational attainment of the Osun State PDP  caretaker state chairman does not educate him to know that INEC operates a central server in its national headquarters where the details of the governorship election are being safely kept.

“The beauty of the whole thing is that the composed story which lacks an iota of element of truth has fallen flat without any capability to either sit or fly.”

The allegation that the Osun APC is working towards the relocation of the election tribunal to Abuja was described as ‘a mere figment of the imagination of the rumour peddler.’

The party noted that the suspicion of the PDP is an indication that the party has something fundamental and spectacular to hide about the governorship election, urging the public to be wary of lies.
