Four peoples Democratic Party (PDP), gubernatorial aspirants in Katsina State said on Thursday they have agreed to cooperate with whoever emerges victorious in the race.

The assurance came on Thursday from the governorship contenders shortly before the gubernatorial primary began through the former state chairman of the PDP turned governorship aspirant, Yusuf Salisu Majigiri.

He said: “The voting pattern has been accepted by all of us and we have agreed to cooperate with each other and make sure that the outcome of the (primary) election will be accepted by all of us.”

The aspirants include former law maker,  Sen. Yakubu Lado; former Secretary to the State Government (SGS) under Ibrahim Shehu Shema, Arch. Aminu Ahmed Yar’ adua and former member of the House of Representatives, Shehu Inuwa Imam.

While vowing that they would leave no stone unturned to ensure PDP emerges victorious in the 2023 general polls, Majigiri insisted : “We are ready to accept the verdict of the delegates today. I am praying that after the (primary) election we will be united so that we can face the ruling party.

“We have an understanding among ourselves that anybody that emerges among the four of us, we will work for him and make sure the party wins in 2023.

The PDP chieftain, who bemoaned the state of the nation, flayed the APC led incumbent administration for not striving enough to better the quality of lives of the masses.

“We are tired of APC; we are not aspiring just for our own selfish interest. All of us here agreed that we want people to have a good government that will take good care of them not government that is selfish.”

He also commended the transparent and inclusive process towards successful governorship primary elections of the opposition party.
